Chelsea’s Litter Club is back to raise awareness for Earth Day 2021 - an annual event celebrated around the world on 22nd April to demonstrate support for ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events in more than 193 countries.

Following the success for our GEP-ling's clean up events in 2020, we will run socially distanced events every quarter throughout 2021!
UNTIL THE LITTER GOES AWAY, NEITHER WILL WE!
Will you help us make even more of an impact for this special Earth Day Litter Club where we aim to educate the public around the importance of taking their litter home and the significant impact on our wildlife and waterways? We will also be reinforcing the REFUSE - REDUCE - REDUCE - RECYCLE message which is key to resolving this global issue. Please show your support by sharing this event and by getting involved on Saturday 17th April – which can be done as part of your daily exercise!
Please note - this event will be observing social distancing guidelines therefore there is no central meeting place. You can collect litter at any time that suits you throughout the day! Please post in the GEP Facebook event page or the GEP Community Group, your own litter picking success stories and photos of your litter collections on the day!

Chelsea’s Story: Chelsea’s Litter Club was inspired by 9-year-old Chelsea, who wanted to help keep the environment clean near where she lives by collecting the litter she found when on walks with her family and dog Valentine! Disappointed by the amount of litter she found, Chelsea wanted to encourage others to do the same thing, and so she has since created 'Chelsea's Litter Club', a litter picking club for kids and families to help keep their local area clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy!
